01| THE OCHRE ABODE

Location : Bangalore  |  Status : Completed

The Ochre Abode is a 2500 sft lake facing apartment in the North of Bangalore. The clients are a young couple who have relocated from California and wanted to embrace their Rajasthani heritage and reimagine it to suit their current modern lifestyle.
The stand out feature in this home is the peacock mural in the foyer, hand painted  with clay paint on a lime plastered wall. It is inspired from Mandana art that hails from Rajasthan and signifies celebrations and new beginnings.
The Jharokha in the dining room was custom made by Rajasthani artisans to pay homage to the windows of the havelis that the client grew up in. All the furniture has been custom made and the palette consists of earthy, natural textures with pops of ochre shades sprinkled throughout the home.
